Threshing Game: the free online Threshing you can play without a login code
Threshing Game Online is an unofficial, free dragon-bonding game based on the Threshing from Rebecca Yarros's Empyrean series. You walk seven scenes in the Vale, a dragon bonds with you or burns you, and you can try again immediately. It needs no email, no login code and no account. The official Dragonkind game signs you in with an emailed code and asks burned players to come back after a few hours.
About two minutes a run · 30 breeds · 66% of all possible runs end in a bond · works on phones

How does the Threshing work here?
- Give a callsign. You are assigned a Wing, a Section and a Squad. The name stays in your browser.
- Make seven choices in the Vale. Each choice shows one of four instincts and adds heat. A dragon comes closer with every scene.
- Bond or burn. A bond gives you one of 30 breeds with its own card and link. A burn lets you walk back in at once.
Every choice carries one, two or three flames. Flames are heat. In the last three scenes the dragon may burn you, and the chance rises with the heat of that choice and of the whole run. Careful runs survive more often. Hot runs roll rarer dragons.

Questions people ask
- Is Threshing Game Online the official Dragonkind game?
- No. It is an unofficial fan game. The official game is Dragonkind at dragonkind.com, published by Yarros Ink and launched on 1 October 2026. This site is not affiliated with it.
- Do I need an email or a login code to play?
- No. You type a callsign and start. Your dragons and progress are saved in your browser only, and no account is created.
- How long do I have to wait after being burned?
- You do not wait. When a dragon burns you here, the Again button starts a new run at once, and your burn count is printed on the card of the dragon that finally bonds you.
- How do I get a black dragon?
- Black dragons answer to one hidden route called the Black Path: one specific choice in each of the seven scenes, all in a single run. Three steps are public. Each burn in scene six or seven reveals one more.
- How do I get a blue dragon?
- Split your first six choices evenly across three instincts, two each, then make your seventh choice the fourth instinct. About 2% of bonds are blue. A blue parent in the Roost also passes blue to half of its hatchlings.
- How does mating work?
- In the Roost you pair one of your bonded dragons with one of three ledge dragons that change every day. The hatchling takes one colour and one tail from its parents, and the odds are shown before you hatch.
- What are the 30 dragon breeds?
- Six colours (red, orange, green, brown, blue, black) times five tails (swordtail, daggertail, clubtail, scorpiontail, morningstartail). Every breed has a page with its stats, its odds and the choices that lead to it.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes. It is built for phones first and runs in the browser. There is nothing to install.
